A FORMER SCOTT COUNTY VIRGINIA FUNERAL HOME DIRECTOR ACCUSED OF DEFRAUDING PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR LIFE SAVINGS HAS ENTERED A PLEA IN CIRCUIT COURT. 45 YEAR OLD ANTHONY ROBBINS, OWNER OF DUFFIELD FUNERAL HOME, ENTERED AN ALFORD PLEA TO 26 FELONY AND 17 MISDEMEANOR CHARGES AFTER NEARLY 90-THOUSAND DOLLARS IN MISSING FUNDS WERE DISCOVERED FROM FUNERAL PLANNING ACCOUNTS. ROBBINS HAS REPAID 14 OF THE 17 PEOPLE HE DEFRAUDED. A SENTENCING HEARING WILL BE HELD TO DETERMINE HOW ROBBINS WILL PAY THE REMAINDER OF THE MONEY OWED. HE HAS AGREED TO SERVE 34 MONTHS IN PRISON AND TEN YEARS OF SUPERVISED PROBATION. HE WILL START SERVING HIS TIME AFTER THE NOVEMBER 13TH HEARING ON THE MONEY.
