East Tennessee State University officials say AT&T wireless telephone users aren’t getting campus warnings, alerts or advisories. The school in Johnson City said the company and ETSU and working to resolve the issue, which affects about 900 of the 5,000 people who signed up with the GoldAlert system. The text messaging system was set up to warn of campus emergencies. The Johnson City Press reported only a few alerts have been sent, most regarding inclement weather. All other service providers’ systems are relaying the GoldAlerts. ETSU also sends out alerts by e-mail, posts them on the university’s home Web page and has sirens in place at several locations on campus.
