JOHNSON CITY POLICE HAVE RELEASED COMPOSITE SKETCHES OF THE SUSPECTS THEY BELIEVE WAS INVOLVED IN THE HIT AND RUN INCIDENT INVOLVING A POLICE OFFICER THIS PAST WEEKEND. THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED EARLY SATURDAY MORNING ON WEST STATE OF FRANKLIN ROAD NEAR THE DOWNTOWN SQUARE PARKING LOT. PRIOR TO THE HIT AND RUN, OFFICIALS SAID THE SUSPECTS – A MAN AND A WOMAN – WERE SITTING IN A PARKING LOT DRUNK TRYING TO OBTAIN COCAINE AND METHAMPHETAMINE FROM PASSERSBY. WHEN AN OFFICER ARRIVED ON THE SCENE, THE SUSPECTS THEN BACKED THEIR MAROON-COLORED, 4-DOOR, LATE MODEL 80’S CADILLAC INTO AN OFFICER’S CAR AND DROVE RIGHT INTO THE OFFICER. THE SUSPECTS CARRIED THE OFFICER ABOUT 15 FEET BEFORE HE WAS THROWN FROM THE VEHICLE. THE OFFICER REMAINS IN THE JOHNSON CITY MEDICAL CENTER UNDER GUARDED CONDITION.
