THE TENNESSEE WILDLIFE RESOURCES AGENCY IS INVESTIGATING TWO UNRELATED BOATING ACCIDENTS IN HAMBLEN COUNTY INVOLVING TRI CITIES RESIDENTS. A KINGSPORT MAN IS RECOVERING FROM INJURIES HE SUSTAINED ON CHEROKEE LAKE. 23 YEAR OLD DAVID TRENT WAS TRANSPORTED TO WELLMONT HOLSTON VALLEY HOSPITAL IN KINGSPORT. TRENT WAS INJURED WHEN THE BOAT HE WAS ON STRUCK A ROCK NEAR THREE SPRINGS BOAT DOCK ON CHEROKEE RESERVOIR IN HAMBLEN COUNTY. THE OPERATOR OF THE VESSE WAS 23 YEAR OLD TONY WAYNE HODGES OF CHURCH HILL. MEANWHILE, The TWRA is investigating ANOTHER WEEKEND boating accident in which a Bristol woman was injured. Authorities say 25-year-old Gabriel Tocci of Greeneville was operating the watercraft on the Cherokee Reservoir near the Hamblen and Grainger county line. THE BOAT was involved in an accident, injuring 24-year-old Rachael Griffin of Bristol. She was taken by EMS to Morristown Hamblen Hospital for observation. At this time, it is unclear what caused the accident.
