TRIAL FOR A FORMER KINGSPORT POLICE OFFICER ACCUSED OF ASSAULT AND PUBLIC INTOXICATION IN WASHINGTON COUNTY TENNESSEE HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL LATER THIS MONTH. 35 YEAR OLD JASON MCCLAIN OF MOUNT CARMEL WAS INVOLVED IN A CONFRONTATION WITH THE JOHNSON CITY POLICE OFFICER IN A NIGHT CLUB PARKING LOT. MCCLAIN WAS A 13-YEAR VETERAN WITH THE KINGSPORT POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEN HE WAS ARRESTED ON AUGUST 27TH OF LAST YEAR AFTER THE OFFICER PULLED HIM FROM A VEHICLE IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE ELECTRIC COWBOY ON NORTH ROAN STREET. MCCLAIN WILL BE BACK IN COURT FOR A HEARING ON AUGUST 22ND.
