THE SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION HAS FILED A LAWSUIT AGAINST A FORMER KINGSPORT INSURANCE BROKER WHO ALLEGEDLY STOLE NEARLY SIX MILLION DOLLARS FROM HIS CLIENTS. THE SUIT WAS FILED IN U.S. DISTRICT COURT IN GREENEVILLE AGAINST MARK SALYER CITING THREE COUNTS OF FRAUD. THE COMPLAINT ALLEGES SALYER ENGAGED IN A SCHEME TO DEFRAUD AT LEAST 33 METLIFE CUSTOMERS BY TAKING THEIR MONEY AND INVESTING IT IN REAL ESTATE VENTURES HE HAD INTEREST IN. HE ALSO OWNED TWO COMPANIES….RELIEF DEFENDANT HORIZON HOLDINGS AND RELIEF DEFENDANT SALMAR INVESTORS GROUP. THE SEC IS SEEKING A RETURN OF THE MONEY SALYER ILLEGALLY TOOK AND AN INJUNCTION AGAINST HIM PROHIBITING HIM FROM FUTURE VIOLATIONS.
