SOME NEW JOBS ARE COMING TO TAZEWELL COUNTY, VIRGINIA. GOVERNOR TIM KAINE HAS ANNOUNCED THAT METAL MANUFACTURING AND PROCESSING WILL INVEST 3.2 MILLION DOLLARS TO OPEN A PROCESSING FACILITY FOR BOTH METAL FABRICATION AND TRUCK PARTS REMANUFACTURING. THE COMPANY WILL CREATE 171 JOBS IN THE COUNTY. MMP IS A STARTUP FIRM IN BLUEFIELD, VIRGINIA AND WILL PROVIDE MATERIAL PROCESSING OPERATIONS FOR OTHER TAZEWELL COUNTY COMPANIES. ACCORDING TO COMPANY PRESIDENT S.R. SMITH, OFFICIALS FOUND THAT VIRGINIA’S TAX BASE WOULD ALLOW THE COMPANY TO CONTINUE TO GROW AND STILL MAINTAIN A LARGER PROFIT MARGIN THAN IN SURROUNDING STATES.
