TWO WASHINGTON COUNTY TENNESSEE SCHOOLS HAVE FAILED TO MEET ADEQUATE YEARLY PROGRESS REQUIREMENTS. THE REQUIREMENTS ARE MANATED BY THE NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND GUIDELINES. BOONES CREEK MIDDLE SCHOOL AND DAVID CROCKETT HIGH SCHOOL HAVE BEEN TARGETED IN THE AREA OF MATHEMATICS. DIRECTOR OF SCHOOLS RON DYKES SAID AT BOONES CREEK MIDDLE, STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES DIDN’T SHOW THE REQUIRED GROWTH IN MATH WHILE AT DAVID CROCKETT HIGH SCHOOL, THE REQUIRED GAIN IN ALGEBRA ONE, WAS NOT MET. SCHOOLS AND DISTRICTS MUST MEET PERFORMANCE STANDARDS IN 37 CATEGORIES AT EACH GRADE SPAN TO BE DEEMED IN GOOD STANDING UNDER NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND GUIDELINES.
