A BRISTOL VIRGINIA MAN HAS BEEN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH A CONFRONTATION WITH ANOTHER MAN AT FOOD CITY ON BROAD STREET IN ELIZABETHTON. THE DRIVER OF A JEEP CHEROKEE, 66 YEAR OLD WILLIAM RAMEY, WAS CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT AFTER POLICE SAY HE GOT INTO A VERBAL ALTERCATION WITH JAMES NICKELS WITH BARGER TRANSPORT. INVESTIGATOR WILLIAM JOHNSON SAYS THE THREAT OF VIOLENCE ESCALATED PRETTY FAST. WHEN NICKELS CONFRONTED RAMEY, TWO WITNESSES TOLD POLICE THAT HE ALLEGEDLY RETRIEVED A RIFLE FROM HIS VEHICLE. RAMEY IS SCHEDULED TO BE IN GENERAL SESSIONS COURT ON AUGUST 12TH.
