A FLORIDA MAN ACCUSED OF FATALLY STABBING A CLINTWOOD MAN HAS A NEW TRIAL DATE SET IN TAZEWELL COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT. 42 YEAR OLD ANTHONY GIBSON’S FIRST DEGREE MURDER TRIAL ENDED IN A MISTRIAL LAST YEAR. THE JUDGE ALLOWED THE NEW TRIAL TO BE HELD IN NEIGHBORING RUSSELL COUNTY DUE TO PUBLICITY SURROUNDING IT. GIBSON IS ACCUSED OF KILLING DERON RAY STANLEY. STANLEY’S TWO CHILDREN HAVE IDENTIFIED GIBSON AS THE MAN THEY SAY KILLED THEIR FATHER. PROSECUTORS CONTEND STANLEY WAS KILLED BECAUSE GIBSON THOUGHT HE WAS A POLICE INFORMANT WHO WAS CHEATING HIM OUT OF DRUG PROFITS. HOWEVER, GIBSON CLAIMS HE NEVER MET STANLEY. HIS NEW TRIAL GETS UNDERWAY SEPTEMBER 22ND IN LEBANON.
