THE OWNER OF AN ELIZABETHTON RESTAURANT IS BEHIND BARS FACING FRAUD-RELATED CHARGES. 59 YEAR OLD PAUL DAVID REICH WHO OWNS MAYFLOWER SEAFOOD RESTAURANT WAS ARRESTED FOLLOWING AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION IN WHICH HE ALLEGEDLY PROVIDED FALSE INFORMATION TO POLICE REGARDING THEFT OF EQUIPMENT FROM THE BUSINESS ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. POLICE DETERMINED THAT REICH HAD FILED FALSE INSURANCE CLAIMS BY FRAUDULENT MEANS REGARDING THE REPORTED THEFTS AND HAD COLLECTED 25-THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM AN INSURANCE COMPANY. HE’S BEEN CHARGED WITH TWO COUNTS OF FILING A FALSE POLICE REPORT AND THREE COUNTS OF FILING A FRAUDULENT INSURANCE CLAIM. REICH IS BEING HELD IN THE CARTER COUNTY JAIL ON A 55-THOUSAND DOLLARS BOND. THE INVESTIGATION IS CONTINUING.
