A FEDERAL INMATE WHO WAS RELEASED DUE TO AN ADMINISTRATIVE ERROR FROM THE WASHINGTON COUNTY TENNESSEE DETENTION CENTER ON WEDNESDAY IS BACK IN POLICE CUSTODY AFTER ENJOYING ONLY A BRIEF BIT OF FREEDOM. 38 YEAR OLD BRIAN LEE ROGERS WAS CONVICTED OF WEAPONS CHARGES. HE WAS CONVICTED AS A FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM AND POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION BY A FELON. ROGERS PLED GUILTY TO THE CHARGES AND WAS SENTENCED IN LATE 2007. HE WAS CAPTURED IN WASHINGTON COUNTY. ROGERS IS NOW FACING CHARGES OF UNLAWFUL FLIGHT TO AVOID PROSECUTION. U.S. MARSHAL JEFFREY HADDEN CALLED THE CAPTURE ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THE POSITIVE RESULTS OF THE ONGOING JOINT OPERATIONS WITH ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE SMOKEY MOUNTAINS TASK FORCE, INCLUDING THE WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE.
