RECORD-HIGH PUMP PRICES ARE FORCING MOTORISTS TO ADJUST HOUSEHOLD BUDGETS AND THEY SAY THEY WILL BE ALTERING THEIR DRIVING HABITS. TRIPLE A AUTO CLUB RECENTLY CONDUCTED A SURVEY. THE SURVEY REVEALED THAT SEVEN IN TEN AAA MID ATLANTIC MEMBERS HAVE HAD TO ALREADY CUT SPENDING OTHER PARTS OF THEIR HOUSEHOLD BUDGET TO MAKE UP FOR THE CONTINUED SPIKE IN GAS PRICES. 87-PER CENT OF THOSE WHO ARE REALLOCATING HOUUSEHOLD FUNDS TO PAY FOR INCREASED GAS COSTS SAID THEY WILL SPEND FEWER DOLLARS ON ENTERTAINMENT. MORE THAN FOUR IN TEN SAID THEY HAD ALREADY CUT BACK ON FOOD SHOPPING. NEARLY HALF OF THOSE WHO COMPLETED THE SURVEY BELIEVE IT IS VERY LIKELY THEY WILL PAY FIVE DOLLARS PER GALLON FOR REGULAR GAS THIS YEAR. 81-PER CENT SAID THEY WERE CONSOLIDATING TRIPS TO CUT COSTS. 74 PERCENT OF THOSE SURVEYED SAID THEY ARE NOW DRIVING FEWER MILES.
