A MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT HAS CLAIMED THE LIFE OF A GREENE COUNTY MAN AND INJURED TWO WOMEN. 43 YEAR OLD ERIC JENNINGS OF GREENEVILLE DIED SUNDAY NIGHT WHEN THE MOTORCYCLE HE WAS OPERATING STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE NEWPORT HIGHWAY. JENNINGS WHO WAS OPERATING A 2008 HARLEY DAVIDSON WAS RACING ANOTHER MOTORCYCLE, PASSED ON A DOUBLE LINE, TRAVELED TOO FAST INTO A CURVE, LAID THE BIKE DOWN, STRIKING THE OTHER VEHICLE HEAD ON. JENNINGS WAS EJECTED FROM THE MOTORCYCLE. THE TWO IN THE CAR, SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. NO CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED. THE INVESTIGATION IS CONTINUING. IN ADDITION TO THE GREENE COUNTY ACCIDENT, THERE WAS ONE OTHER FATAL CRASH IN THE TRI CITIES AREA DURING THE FOURTH OF JULY HOLIDAY WEEKEND. 18 YEAR OLD DAVID TRAVIS TIPTON OF ELIZABETHTON DIED IN A HEAD-ON CRASH IN CARTER COUNTY OF FRIDAY. THREE OTHER PEOPLE, ALL FROM JEFFERSON CITY, WERE INJURED.
