THE KINGSPORT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BOARD IS TRYING TO ASSIST A COMPANY INTERESTED IN REDEVELOPING PART OF THE CITY-OWNED QUEBECOR WORLD PROPERTY. A REQUEST DUBBED, PROJECT FRIDAY, WAS FILED YESTERDAY ASKING CITY LEADERS TO GRANT A SIX MONTH OPTION ON THE PROPERTY AT NO COST. THE UNNAMED COMPANY IS SEEKING DIBS ON MORE THAN 200-THOUSAND SQUARE FEET OF BUILDING SPACE AND OTHER QUEBECOR PROPERTY ADJOINING WEST SULLIVAN AND CLINCHFIELD STREETS. THE PROJECT IS EXPECTED TO COST MORE THAN 16 MILLION DOLLARS.
