BLUFF CITY POLICE HAVE MADE A SECOND ARREST IN CONNECTION WITH A RECENT RASH OF CATALYTIC CONVERTER THEFTS INCLUDING SOME FROM SEIZED VEHICLES LOCATED IN A CITY LOT. OVER 31 CONVERTERS WERE STOLEN LAST WEEK ALONE IN BLUFF CITY. 33 YEAR OLD CHUCKEY ALLEN HENSLEY OF BLUFF CITY WAS FOUND SLEEPING AT A TIMBER RIDGE ROAD RESIDENCE. HE WAS CHARGED WITH FELONY EVADING ARREST, RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT, STOP SIGN VIOLATION, CRIMINAL TRESPASSING, AND 31 COUNTS OF THEFT FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE. HENSLEY IS BEING HELD IN THE SULLIVAN COUNTY DETENTION CENTER. EARLIER THIS WEEK, 27 YEAR OLD TRAVIS JACKSON OF BRISTOL, VIRGINIA WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL TRESPASSING AND 31 COUNTS OF THEFT FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE. CHIEF NELSON SAID THE THEFTS MAY INVOLVE MORE JURISDICTIONS. THE INVESTIGATION IS CONTINUING.
