BLUFF CITY POLICE HAVE MADE ONE ARREST AND HAVE ISSUED A WARRANT FOR A SECOND PERSON IN CONNECTION WITH A RECENT RASH OF CATALYTIC CONVERTER THEFTS INCLUDING SOME FROM SEIZED VEHICLES LOCATED IN A CITY LOT. OVER 31 CONVERTERS WERE STOLEN LAST WEEK ALONE IN BLUFF CITY. ACCORDIN TO CHIEF DAVID NELSON, 27 YEAR OLD TRAVIS JACKSON OF BRISTOL, VIRGINIA WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL TRESPASSING AND 31 COUNTS OF THEFT FROM A MOTOR VEHICLE. CHIEF NELSON SAID THE THEFTS MAY INVOLVE MORE JURISDICTIONS. ADDITIONAL ARRESTS COULD BE FORTHCOMING. THE INVESTIGATION IS CONTINUING.
