THE FORMER POLICE CHIEF OF CHILHOWIE VIRGINIA WHO WAS CONVICTED OF SEXUALLY ASSAULTING A 17 YEAR OLD GIRL AT A POLICE SPONSORED HAUNTED HOUSE IN 2006 IS ASKING FOR A CIVIL LAWSUIT GUARDIAN. DWAYNE SHEFFIELD WROTE A LETTER FROM PRISON ASKING A JUDGE TO APPOINT A GUARDIAN TO REPSENT HIM IN A 30 MILLION DOLLAR LAWSUIT. THE LAWSUIT WAS FILED BY 18 YEAR OLD SARAH COALSON IN SMYTH COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT. SHE CONTENDS SHE WAS SEXUALLY ASSAULTED BY SHEFFIELD AND FORMER POLICE OFFICER BRIAN DOSS WHEN SHE WAS 17 YEARS OLD. SHEFFIELD CITED FINANCIAL HARDSHIPS, RESULTING FROM HIS INCARCERATION AS MOTIVATION FOR HIS REQUEST FOR PUBLIC LEGAL REPRESENTATION. SMYTH COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT JUDGE ISAAC FREEMAN SAID SHEFFIELD IS ELIGIBLE FOR REPRESENTATION OF A COURT APPOINTED ATTORNEY AT THE EXPENSE OF THE PLAINTIFF.
