A MAN ACCUSED OF HOLDING UP AN ERWIN BANK HAS ADMITTED TO THE CRIME IN UNICOI COUNTY CRIMINAL COURT. 41 YEAR OLD JEFFREY MELTON OF BULLS GAP PLED GUILTY TO ROBBERY AND APOLOGIZED TO THE COURT AND THE TOWN OF ERWIN. MELTON WAS ACCUSED OF ROBBING BANK OF TENNESSEE ON NORTH MAIN AVENUE ON JANUARY 11TH AND TAKING OVER THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS. POLICE RECOVERED ABOUT TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS AND HE WILL HAVE TO PAY NEARLY 17-HUNDRED DOLLARS IN RESTITUTION. HE IS SEEKING PROBATION AT AN AUGUST 11TH HEARING.
