GROUND HAS BEEN BROKEN IN LEE COUNTY VIRGINIA FOR THE NEW CROOKED ROAD TECHNOLOGY CENTER. STATE AND LOCAL OFFICIALS GATHERED YESTERDAY FOR A CEREMONY AT THE SITE IN DUFFIELD WHERE THE 45 THOUSAND SQUARE FOOT 5.5 MILLION DOLLAR BUILDING WILL BE BUILT. THE CENTER WILL CREATE UP TO 150 JOBS AND WILL OFFER PROGRAMS SUCH AS A SOFTWARE ENGINEERING DEGREE FROM UVA WISE AS WELL AS TECHNOLOGY FAST-TRACK CURRICULUMS FROM LOCAL COMMUNITY COLLEGES. A COMPLETION DATE FOR CONSTRUCTION HAS NOT BEEN ANNOUNCED.
