CARSON NEWMAN COLLEGE IS JOINING THE LINEUP OF EDUCATIONAL PARTNERS INVOLVED IN KINGSPORT’S CENTER FOR HIGHER EDUCATION. THE PARTNERSHIP WAS CONFIRMED MONDAY. THE COLLEGE HAS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING 50-THOUSAND DOLLARS A YEAR TO THE CENTER’S OPERATION FOR THREE YEARS. IN ADDITION TO CARSON-NEWMAN, NORTHEAST STATE TECHNICAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE, THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE KNOXVILLE, KING COLLEGE, AND LINCOLN MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY HAVE ALSO JOINED IN THE FINANCIAL COMMITMENT. THE CENTER, WHICH IS LOCATED IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA, IS EXPECTED TO OPEN IN AUGUST OF 2009.
