THE POPULARITY OF HARRY POTTER HAS GOTTEN AN ABINGDON VIRGINIA MAN IN TROUBLE WITH THE LAW. IT AL BEGAN WHEN ABINGDON POLICE WERE CALLED TO INVESTIGATE A REPORT OF A THEFT FROM A VEHICLE AT THE VIRGINIA CREEPER TRAIL PARKING LOT IN WASHINGTON COUNTY VIRGINIA. THE VICTIM TOLD POLICE UPON RETURNING TO THEIR CAR, THEY DISCOVERED SOMEONE HAD STOLEN THEIR CASH, CREDIT CARDS, STEREO EQUIPMENT, AND CELL PHONE. 43 YEAR OLD DAVID BREWSTER WAS CHARGED WITH ONE COUNT OF RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY, ONE COUNT OF PETIT LARCENY, ONE COUNT OF ENTERING A VEHICLE, ONE COUNT OF GRAND LARCENY, AND TEN COUNTS OF CREDIT CARD THEFT. ACCORDING TO ABINGDON POLICE CHIEF TONY SULLIVAN, ONE OF THE STOLEN CREDIT CARDS HAD REPORTEDLY BEEN USED TO PURCHASE TWO TICKETS TO AN UPCOMING SHOWING OF HARRY POTTER’S LATEST MOVIE AT TINSELTOWN THEATRES ON LINDEN DRIVE IN BRISTOL VIRGINIA. FOLLOWING HIS ARREST, BREWSTER WAS IN POSSESSION OF THE STOLEN CREDIT CARD USED TO PURCHASE THE TICKETS. HE CONSENTED TO A SEARCH OF HIS VEHICLE WHERE OTHER STOLEN ITEMS FROM THE VEHICLE IN ABINGDON WERE LOCATED. BREWSTER IS BEING HELD IN THE BRISTOL VIRGINIA JAIL.
