TUITION RATES COULD BE ON THE RISE AGAIN. A TENNESSEE BOARD OF REGENTS COMMITTEE HAS RECOMMENDED A TUITION INCREASE FOR ALL OF IT’S FOUR YEAR UNIVERSITIES AND COMMUNITY COLLEGES AND TECHNOLOGY CENTERS. EAST TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS WILL SEE AN INCREASE OF FIVE TO NINE PERCENT UNDER THE COMMITTEE’S PROPOSAL. NORTHEAST STATE TECHNICAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE STUDENTS WOULD SEE AN INCREASE OF SIX PERCENT IN THEIR TUITION RATES. THE FULL BOARD OF REGENTS IS EXPECTED TO MEET JUNE 26TH TO CONSIDER THE COMMITTEE’S RECOMMENDATIONS.
