CLEANUP HAS BEEN COMPLETED AT THE SITE OF A FORMER BRISTOL TENNESSEE BUSINESS THAT CAUGHT FIRE OVER A YEAR AGO. THE 110-THOUSAND SQUARE FOOT AURORA CASKET COMPANY AT GEORGIA AVENUE AND OAKWOOD STREET CAUGHT FIRE IN NOVEMBER 2006. CLEANUP FOR THE 17 ACRE LOT WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE UNEXPECTED AMOUNT OF CONCRETE AND STEEL FOUND IN THE GROUND. INVESTIGATORS WERE NEVER ABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE. THE FORMER BUSINESS SITE IS NOW UP FOR SALE. MEANWHILE, SEVERAL PROPERTY OWNERS WHOSE HOMES WERE DAMAGED BY THE FIRE HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED ANY COMPENSATION AND AWAIT A LAWSUIT HEARING IN SULLIVAN COUNTY CRIMINAL COURT NEXT MONTH.
