TWO MEN HAVE FOUND THEMSELVES ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE LAW IN CARTER COUNTY FOLLOWING A TRAFFIC STOP THAT LED TO DRUGS AND MONEY BEING SEIZED. 27 YEAR OLD MICHAEL POTTER IS CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE SIX DRUGS FOR RESALE AND POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA ALONG WITH ADDITIONAL TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS. A TRAFFIC STOP ON HIGHWAY 91 FRIDAY NIGHT LED TO THE SEIZURE OF A LARGE AMOUNT OF MARIJUANA AND U.S. CURRENCY WHICH HAD ALLEGEDLY BEEN CONCEALED IN A DODGE DURANGO. THIS LED TO THE SEARCH OF A HOME ON STONEY CREEK WHERE MORE ILLEGAL WEED WAS FOUND AS WELL AS MONEY AND DRUG PARAPHERNALIA. IN TOTAL, FOUR POUNDS OF MARIJUANA, THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS IN CASH AND THE DODGE DURANGO WERE SEIZED. MEANWHILE, 23 YEAR OLD ADAM SLUDER WAS ALSO ARRESTED AFTER BEING IDENTIFIED AS A REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER AND WANTED FOR A VIOLATION OF PROBATION FOR STATUTORY RAPE OUT OF JOHNSON COUNTY. THE DRUG BUST CASE REMAINS OPEN AND MORE ARRESTS ARE POSSIBLE.
