A GREENEVILLE MAN ACCUSED OF ATTEMPTING TO RUN OVER A ROGERSVILLE POLICE OFFICER DURING A CHASE HAS HAD HIS TRIAL DATE CONTINUED FROM THIS WEEK UNTIL LATER THIS YEAR IN HAWKINS COUNTY CRIMINAL COURT. 21 YEAR OLD JOSEPH FORTENBERRY IS CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, EVADING ARREST AND DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE. ROGERSVILLE POLICE ATTEMPTED TO PULL HIM OVER LAST NOVEMBER AND SOMETIME DURING THE CHASE, FORTENBERRY ALLEGEDLY TRIED TO RUN OVER AN OFFICER WITH HIS VEHICLE AT WHICH TIME SHOTS WERE FIRED INTO FORTENBERRY’S CAR, LEAVING HIM AND HIS 16 YEAR OLD PASSENGER INJURED. HIS NEW TRIAL DATE IS SET FOR OCTOBER 20TH.
