DAVIS SAID WHILE THE COUNTRY STILL HAS A VERY CENTRALIZED GOVERNMENT, HE DID SEE SIGNS OF WESTERNIZATION WHILE THERE. THE CONGRESSMAN BELIEVES THAT ONLY THROUGH DIRECT AMERICAN INVOLVEMENT AND CONTINUED PRESENCE BY OUR SOLDIERS WILL IRAQ EVER GET THE CHANCE TO EVOLVE AND CHANGE FROM PAST YEARS OF VIOLENCE AND OPPRESSION.
