LEVELS OF SEVERAL BLOOD TYPES IN THE TRI CITIES ARE DANGEROUSLY LOW. ACCORDING TO THE AMERICAN RED CROSS, THERE IS LESS THAN A 24-HOUR SUPPLY OF TYPE “O” NEGATIVE AND “B” NEGATIVE BLOOD ON HAND. HOWEVER, ALL BLOOD TYPES ARE NEEDED. UPCOMING BLOOD DRIVES ON THURSDAY INCLUDE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH IN ELIZABETHTON FROM 1:30 P.M. TO 6 P.M., DOAK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN GREENEVILLE FROM 9 A.M. UNTIL 1:30 P.M., AND AT ROAN HIGHLANDS ON BUCK CREEK ROAD IN ROAN MOUNTAIN FROM 2 P.M. UNTIL 6:30 P.M. DONORS MUST AT LEAST 17 YEARS OLD, WEIGH A MINIMUM OF 110 POUNDS, AND BE IN GENERAL GOOD HEALTH. ALL DONORS WILL RECEIVE A RED CROSS UMBRELLA.
