A MAN ACCUSED IN A DOUBLE MURDER IN JOHNSON CITY IS ONCE AGAIN ATTEMPTING TO DELAY HIS TRIAL. 57 YEAR OLD HOWARD HAWK WILLIS IS CHARGED WITH TWO COUNTS OF FIRST DEGREE MURDER IN THE OCTOBER 2002 KILLINGS OF GEORGIA TEENS, ADAM CHRISMER AND SAMANTHA LEMING. WILLIS FACES THE DEATH PENALTY IF CONVICTED. AFTER WORKING HIS WAY THROUGH NUMEROUS ATTORNEYS, JUDGE LYNN BROWN APPOINTED WILLIS TO REPRESENT HIMSELF. HE’S FILED A REQUEST ASKING FOR PERMISSION TO APPEAL THE JUDGE’S RULING FOR HIM TO REPRESENT HIMSELF. WILLIS CURRENTLY HAS A MOTION HEARING SET FOR MAY 28TH. HIS TRAIL DATE IS CURRENTLY SET FOR JULY 10TH.
