THE TENNESSEE SUPREME COURT HAS DISBARRED A GREENEVILLE ATTORNEY. ACCORDING TO THE BOARD OF PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY, LAWRENCE WELCH JR. IS ACCUSED OF MISUSING HIS MOTHER’S AND DECEASED FATHER’S CREDIT CARDS FOR HIS OWN PERSONAL BENEFIT. THE BOARD ALSO STATED WELCH ENCOURAGED PLAINTIFFS TO FILE A SEXUAL HARASSMENT LAWSUIT BASED ON FALSE CHARGES, HE NEGLECTED A CLIENT’S CASE, FAILED TO COMMUNICATE WITH A CLIENT AND THE OPPOSING ATTORNEY, AND MISLED CLIENTS SO THEY BELIEVED HE HAD FILED THEIR LAWSUITS WHEN HE ACTUALLY HAD NOT. NOW WELCH WILL HAVE TO WAIT FIVE YEARS BEFORE HE CAN APPLY FOR REINSTATEMENT OF HIS LAW LICENSE.
