A FORMER TRI CITIES INSURANCE AGENT ACCUSED OF STEALING OVER TWO MILLION DOLLARS HAS ADMITTED TO THE CRIME IN U.S. DISTRICT COURT IN GREENEVILLE. MICKEY KENDRICK PLED GUILTY TO EMBEZZLING FUNDS FROM TENNESSEE FARMER’S MUTUAL INSURANCE. THE PLEA AGREEMENT CLAIMED KENDRICK ISSUED 440 CHECKS FOR A TOTAL OF 2.4 MILLION DOLLARS OVER A FIVE YEAR PERIOD. JUDGE RONNIE GREER ORDERED KENDRICK TO SERVE 32 MONTHS IN PRISON AND PAY RESTITUTION. AN ATTORNEY FOR TENNESSEE FARMERS MUTUAL HAD PREVIOUSLY STATED THAT THIS WAS THE LARGEST FRAUD IN THE COMPANY’S 60 YEAR HISTORY.
