THE DEATH EARLIER THIS YEAR OF A CRANE OPERATOR AT A CONSTRUCTION SITE IN KINGSPORT HAS BEEN RULED ACCIDENTIAL. 47 YEAR OLD CHARLES DEWEY SLAGLE WAS KILLED WHEN THE CRANE HE WAS OPERATING HIT A POWER LINE. SLAGLE REPORTEDLY TRIED TO JUMP OFF THE CRANE AND IN THE PROCESS WAS ELECTROCUTED. THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT HAS DECIDED NOT TO ISSUE A CITATION TO J.A. STREET AND ASSOCIATES. THE COMPANY PROVIDES A TRAINING PROGRAM TO THEIR CRANE OPERATORS AND SAFETY COURSES AS WELL. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED IN FEBRUARY AT THE HMG MEDICAL BUILDING ON STONE DRIVE.
