A BRISTOL TENNESSEE MAN IS AWAITING EXTRADICTION BACK TO WASHINGTON COUNTY VIRGINIA AFTER ALLEGEDLY MURDERING A WOMAN WITH A HAMMER. DEPUTIES WITH THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE WENT TO A HOME ON RAINBOW ROAD ON A WELFARE CHECK WHEN THEY DISCOVERED THE BODY OF LINDA RUTH WYRICK IN A POOL OF BLOOD. POLICE BELIEVE WYRICK DIED FROM BLUNT FOREC TRAUMA. 53 YEAR OLD MICHAEL ANTHONY RIGOLY WAS ARRESTED WITHOUT INCIDENT AT A RESIDENCE ON KENTUCKY AVENUE. RIGOLY IS FACING FIRST DEGREE MURDER CHARGES. HE IS BEING HELD IN THE SULLIVAN COUNTY JAIL IN BLOUNTVILLE. WYRICK’S BODY HAS BEEN SENT TO THE MEDICAL EXAMINER’S OFFICE IN ROANOKE FOR AN AUTOPSY. SHERIFF NEWMAN SAID THE MURDER WEAPON HAS NOT YET BEEN LOCATED. THE INVESTIGATION IS CONTINUING.
