THE BODY OF A MAN FOUND DEAD 26 YEARS AGO UNDER A BUSH HOG ON HIS PROPERTY IN UNICOI COUNTY HAS BEEN EXHUMED. RICHARD TAPP’S BODY WAS TAKEN TO THE QUILLEN COLLEGE OF MEDICINE WHERE HIS IDENTITY WAS CONFIRMED AND SOME X-RAYS TAKEN. AN AUTOPSY WILL BE PERFORMED TODAY TO TRY AND DECIDE IF TAPP’S DEATH WAS ACCIDENTIAL OR ON PURPOSE. IF IT TURNS OUT HIS DEATH WAS CRIMINAL, SHERIFF KENT HARRIS WOULD ONLY SAY THE FOREST SERVICE OFFICER POSSIBILY DISCOVERED DRUGS OR TURNED IN PEOPLE WHO WERE GROWING MARIJUANA. TAPP IS EXPECTED TO BE BURIED AGAIN SOMETIME TOMORROW.
