JOHNSON CITY POLICE SAY JAMES RIDDICK WAS GOING 16 MILES OVER THE SPEED LIMIT, THEN WHEN THEY TRIED TO PULL HIM OVER, HE DROVE THE WRONG WAY DOWN A ONE-WAY STREET. BUT THOSE PROVED TO BE THE LEAST OF HIS PROBLEMS WITH AUTHORITIES. WHEN RIDDICK WAS FINALLY CAUGHT, HE WAS FOUND TO BE IN POSSESSION OF 10.4 GRAMS OF CRACK COCAINE. FOLLOWING A BACKGROUND CHECK ON THE MAN, RIDDICK’S LICENSE HAD BEEN REVOKED FOR DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE. SO, HIS CHARGES INCLUDE MANUFACTURING AND SELLING OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, DRIVING ON A REVOKED DRIVER’S LICENSE, SPEEDING, IMPROPER REGISTRATION, DRIVING THE WRONG WAY ON A ONE-WAY STREET, VIOLATION OF THE FINANCIAL RESPONSIBLITY LAW, AND EVADING ARREST. RIDDICK IS LODGED IN THE WASHINGTON COUNTY DETENTION CENTER, AND WILL APPEAR IN GENERAL SESSIONS COURT ON MONDAY.
