A CANADIAN BASED COMPANY HAS ANNOUNCED IT WILL ESTABLISH A NEW OPERATION IN SULLIVAN COUNTY THAT WILL BRING 80 NEW JOBS. THE MANUFACTURING COMPANY IS BUYING A LARGE VACANT INDUSTRIAL BUILDING WITH STATE-OF-THE-ART EQUIPMENT AND A FAST TRACK SCHEDULE. THE UNNMAED COMPANY PLANS TO INVEST 38 MILLION DOLLARS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE FACILITY AND EQUIPMENT. IT MAY BE OPERATIONAL BY AS EARLY AS AUGUST. MEANWHILE, NETWORKS SULLIVAN PARTNERSHIP CEO RICHARD VENABLE SAID HE’S WORKING WITH TWO MORE COMPANIES TO FINALIZE PLANS FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS SOON. THE COMPANIES AREN’T YET READY TO BE NAMED. VENABLE HOPES THE NEWS WILL HELP THOSE WHO WERE RECENTLY LAIDOFF AT AGC FLAT GLASS IN KINGSPORT AND HAWKINS COUNTY.
