A VIRGINIA MAN ACCUSED OF STRIKING A MOTORCYCLIST WITH HIS CAR AND THEN FLEEING THE SCENE WILL BE ARRAIGNED LATER THIS MONTH IN HAWKINS COUNTY GENERAL SESSIONS COURT. DANNY SHORTRIDGE OF ROWE VIRGINIA IS CHARGED WITH DRIVING WITH A REVOKED LICENSE, LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT WITH INJURY, FAILURE TO YIELD RIGHT OF WAY, FAILURE TO GIVE IMMEDIATE NOTICE OF AN ACCIDENT, AND FAILURE TO RENDER AID. ACCORDING TO THE HAWKINS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, SHORTRIDGE WAS TURNING FROM ROUTE 66 ONTO ROUTE 70 LAST WEEK WHEN HIS VEHICLE STRUCK A MOTORCYCLE BEING DRIVEN BY JESSIE RINGLEY. RINGLEY WAS LEFT BEHIND LYING IN THE ROADWAY WITH A BROKEN ANKLE AND BROKEN THUMB. SHORTRIDGE WILL BE ARRAIGNED APRIL 23RD.
