A FORMER SALTVILLE VIRGINIA POLICE INVESTIGATOR WHO ADMITTED TO BEING ADDICTED TO METH AND TRYING TO PURCHASE IT FROM AN UNDERCOVER OFFICER HAS BEEN SENTENCED IN U.S. DISTRICT COURT IN ABINGDON. GARY RAY CALL WAS ORDERED TO SPEND TWO YEARS BEHIND BARS ON DRUG AND FIREARMS CHARGES. HE WILL ALSO HAVE TO SERVE THREE YEARS OF SUPERVISED RELEASE AFTER SERVING HIS TIME AND PERFORM 100 HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE. CALL WAS CONVICTED IN JANUARY OF BEING AN UNLAWFUL DRUG USER IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM AND ATTEMPTING TO POSSESS METHAMPHETAMINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE. CALL SAID HE WAS SORRY AND THAT NOT ALL POLICE OFFICERS ARE BAD.
