THE MURDER TRIAL OF A JOHNSON CITY MAN HAD TO BE DELAYED BUT IS SET TO RESUME THIS MORNING IN WASHINGTON COUNTY TENNESSEE CRIMINAL COURT. JUDGE ROBERT CUPP BECAME ILL YESTERDAY SO THE TRIAL FOR PONCHO JUAN DELGADO WAS PLACED ON HOLD. HE’S CHARGED WITH FIRST DEGREE MURDER IN THE KILLING OF 41 YEAR OLD ROBERT CURTIS IN MAY OF 2006. CURTIS WAS FOUND DEAD INSIDE HIS BURNED HOME ON EAST FAIRVIEW AVENUE WITH MULTIPLE STAB WOUNDS. A PATHOLOGIST IS EXPECTED TO TESTIFY TODAY. IF DELGADO’S IS CONVICTED, HE FACES LIFE IN PRISON.
