A HISTORIC LANDMARK IN CARTER COUNTY HAS RECEIVED FEDERAL GRANT MONEY. ELIZABETHTON’S COVERED BRIDGE HAS RECEIVED A TOTAL OF 320-THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM THE FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION. THE FUNDS WILL BE USED TO KEEP THE BRIDGE MAINTAINED AND STANDING WELL INTO THE FUTURE. THE BRIDGE WAS BUILT IN 1882 AT A COST OF JUST OVER 3-THOUSAND DOLLARS.
