The Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency Is Launching A Regional Outreach To Help Low-Income Households With Home Energy Bills. The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, Or LIHEAP, Provides Payments Directly To Utility Companies For Eligible Households. Priority Is Given To Homes With Young Children, The Elderly, The Disabled, Veterans, And Large Households. Funding Is Limited And Allocated Using A Point System. Payments Can Take Up To Ninety Days To Be Applied. Residents Are Encouraged To Continue Paying Their Utility Bills While Waiting For Assistance.
