Johnson City Police Have Arrested 68-Year-Old Dr. Atif Atyia Of Jonesborough On Charges Of Aggravated Rape And Three Counts Of Sexual Battery. The Charges Stem From An Investigation Launched February 19th After A Patient Reported Being Raped During An Office Visit. Police Executed A Search Warrant At Atyia’s Practice On West Market Street Before Presenting The Case To A Washington County Grand Jury, Which Issued A True Bill. Atyia Is Being Held On A 50-Thousand-Dollar Bond. Police Are Asking Any Other Potential Victims To Contact The Johnson City Police Department Or Crime Stoppers.
