SULLIVAN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COULD VOTE TODAY ON A RESOLUTION THAT WOULD HELP PAY TO DELIVER OUT OF STATE HAY TO COUNTY FARMERS. A LATE FREEZE IN EARLY 2007 COUPLED WITH A DROUGHT THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER AND FALL DESTROYED MOST OF THE LOCAL CROP. IF APPROVED, THE PROPOSED RESOLUTION WOULD USE TAXPAYER MONEY TO ASSIST FARMES IN PAYING FOR THE DELIVERY OF OUT OF STATE HAY TO THEIR FARMS.
