Greene County Has Been Awarded $6.2 Million To Replace The Poplar Springs Bridge And Carter County Has Been Awarded Almost 11 Million For Two County Bridge Repairs And Replacements Which Were Destroyed During Tropical Storm Helene In September. The Funds, Approved By The State Of Tennessee And FEMA, Will Cover Demolition And Reconstruction, With FEMA Providing. The Work Will Include Architectural And Engineering Services, Utilizing Best Construction Practices And Applicable Codes. The Project Falls Under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program, Which Covers 75% Of Eligible Costs. The Remaining 25% Is Provided By Local Funds.
