A FLAG POND MAN ACCUSED OF CONSPIRING TO BRING DRUGS INTO THE UNICOI COUNTY JAIL HAS BEEN ARRESTED. 47-YEAR-OLD MITCHEAL HENSLEY WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON TUESDAY BY UNICOI COUNTY DEPUTIES. HENSLEY WAS INDICTED IN SEPTEMBER 2024 ON SEVERAL CHARGES, INCLUDING CONSPIRACY TO INTRODUCE DRUGS INTO A PENAL FACILITY AND POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE II NARCOTIC WITH THE INTENT TO SELL OR DELIVER. AUTHORITIES SAY HENSLEY HAD BEEN AVOIDING CAPTURE AND MOVED BETWEEN LOCATIONS BEFORE BEING LOCATED IN THE 3000 BLOCK OF TEMPLE HILL ROAD. DEPUTIES SPOTTED HIM LEAVING THE AREA IN A VEHICLE AND LATER ARRESTED HIM AT A PAL’S DRIVE-THRU IN ERWIN.
