Volunteers And Local Businesses Are Helping To Restore The Cat Island Baseball And Softball Fields In Elizabethton After Floodwaters Damaged Them Last Year. The Elizabethton River Riders, In Partnership With Boyd Sports And The Elizabethton Parks And Recreation Department, Have Taken The Lead In Renovating The Fields To Make Sure They’re Ready For The Upcoming Season. The Fields Will Be Used By More Than 600 Kids In The Elizabethton/Carter County Baseball Association, And The Efforts Include Removing Debris, Leveling Dirt, And Aligning Base Paths. Businesses Like Lowe’s Of Elizabethton, Farm Supply, And Big John’s Closeouts Have Contributed To The Renovation By Providing Materials And Supplies.
