The Tennessee Department Of Environment And Conservation Has Lifted A Water Contact Advisory That Was Issued Following Extreme Flooding From Hurricane Helene The Advisory, Issued October 2nd, Applied To Several Rivers In The Region Including The Nolichucky And French Broad Rivers After Sampling And Comparing Water Quality To Historical Data, TDEC Found The Water Had Returned To Pre-Helene Conditions Commissioner David Salyers Said The Advisory Was Issued Out Of Caution And That Water Quality Has Now Improved Cleanup Efforts Have Removed Debris, And Fish Consumption Is Still Considered Safe.
