The Tennessee Bureau Of Investigation Is Continuing To Probe An Officer-Involved Shooting Over The Weekend In Erwin. Police Chief Regan Tilson Said His Officers Responded To A Noise Complaint Early Saturday Morning At A Home In The 600 Block Of Maple Avenue. When Officers Knocked On The Door And Identified Themselves, They Were Confronted By A Man Holding A Shotgun. Police Ordered The Man To Drop The Weapon, But When He Pointed It At Them, Officers Fired Shots In Self-Defense. The Unnamed Man Died A Short Time Later At Johnson City Med Center. Once The TBI Investigation Is Complete, The Findings Will Be Turned Over To The District Attorney’s Office.
