Second Harvest Food Bank Of Northeast Tennessee Has Opened A New 9,000 Square Foot Volunteer Center To Boost Its Food Distribution Efforts. Executive Director Rhonda Chafin Says The Facility Will Host Large Groups And Individual Volunteers, Critical To Their Mission Of Reducing Food Insecurity. The Good Steward Volunteer Center Includes A Training Room, Offices, And A Commercial Kitchen To Support After-School Meals. Second Harvest Plans To Use The Center To Expand Its Volunteer Hours And Reach Its Goal Of Lowering Food Insecurity By 5% In The Region By 2030.
