New Data From The Tennessee Department Of Labor Shows Unemployment Rates Below 5% In All But Three Counties. Sevier County Recorded The State’s Lowest Rate In August At 2.5%, While Houston County Had The Highest At 5.7%. Statewide, The Seasonally Adjusted Unemployment Rate Was 3.1%, Slightly Up From July. In Total, 47 Counties Saw A Drop In Rates, 28 Had Increases, And 20 Remained The Same. The U.S. Unemployment Rate For August Was 4.2%.
